I'm alright! It's good to hear from you. Are you in LA?
jamie rosado / sent 11:13 pm
I need to check on my place in New York, anyway, if you're on the east coast?
jamie rosado / sent 11:34 pm
Guess who texted me today
jamie rosado / sent 8:34 am
Well, yesterday
jamie rosado / sent 8:35 am
Ok biting! Who?
lydia rosado / sent 9:52 am

jamie rosado / sent 9:58 am
UMMMMM
lydia rosado / sent 10:05 am
Okay
lydia rosado / sent 10:05 am
How did that go?
lydia rosado / sent 10:06 am
It didn't lmao. She just sent me a heart emoji and then barely responded.
jamie rosado / sent 10:08 am
She's probably busy on set or something, so I get it.
jamie rosado / sent 10:09 am
What are the odds??
jamie rosado / sent 10:11 am
My heart literally skipped when I saw the text come in.
jamie rosado / sent 10:12 am
That's kind of weird that the only thing she sent was a heart though???
lydia rosado / sent 10:22 am
It was a YELLOW heart. That's the one we chose for each other, because of my tattoo. The sun.
jamie rosado / sent 10:24 am
oooooh ok that make sense. Well, just wait and see!
lydia rosado / sent 10:26 am
I'm going to call her today
jamie rosado / sent 10:27 am
Don't call her
lydia rosado / sent 10:34 am
Just wait
lydia rosado / sent 10:34 am
'Cause if she's busy like you said, she prob won't answer anyways, right?
lydia rosado / sent 10:35 am
She'll prob txt back when she gets the time.
lydia rosado / sent 10:35 am
Jamie?
lydia rosado / sent 11:42 am
Don't be worried about me so much.
jamie rosado / sent 11:46 am
I'm your sister. I just want to make sure you're good, ya know??
lydia rosado / sent 11:48 am
Totally fine
jamie rosado / sent 11:58 am
ily!!! Just wait a little while, ok? You can so do this!! And then when she txts you back, you'll have something cool to say like you always do. If you call and txt her right now you won't be your reg, cool self. Trust me, ok?
lydia rosado / sent 12:16 pm
I know what you're doing. I don't need to be cool when it comes to Ames. We've known each other for decades. She knows how I can be and what I'm like and it's not like I'm like that right now.
jamie rosado / sent 12:27 pm
Ok well fine, I just don't think it's a good idea. Plz don't call her. You two broke up for a reason, and you just went through this other breakup too. I get really scared for you when you go through a breakup and stuff like this bcuz I know how it effects you and I don't want to see you down or hurting. π’
lydia rosado / sent 12:30 pm
helloooo????
lydia rosado / sent 12:50 pm
Jesus christ lydia calm down
jamie rosado / sent 2:37 pm
I'm trying to be really cool, but you're being mean all cause I care.
lydia rosado / sent 2:43 pm

ames / sent 9:52 pm
are you in new york??
jamie rosado / sent 9:54 pm
pretend i haven't been running on 2 hours of sleep lmao and i remembered that i asked you that already.
jamie rosado / sent 9:56 pm
Fuck it, I was never good at playing cool, you know that. Let's catch up in NYC? I could come by if you want? We can talk about whatever, I just want to see how you're doing. As friends.
jamie rosado / sent 12:04 am
The least you could do is tell me no if you really feel that way. I know, why in the world would you want to hang out with me anyway? But you can just say that, instead of treating me this way.
jamie rosado / sent 1:17 am
You texted me. YOU sent ME a heart, so what was it for? Nothing??
jamie rosado / sent 1:17 am
I'm so fucking tired of being left behind by everybody and everyone.
jamie rosado / sent 1:19 am
I'm so sorry, Ames. I know you're no stranger to this kind of behavior from me. I'm just going through some stuff and it has nothing to do with you and I shouldn't take that out on you. I know you're probably busy, so I'll let you get back to what you are doing. Just know that you're always cool in my book, and I know I try your fucking patience, but I hope you don't hate me for being difficult and needy.
jamieriot Woke up late and this mop is out of control, but it's a beautiful day and life is good.

Voicemail for Amelia

"I like you. You're fucking beautiful."
He had to yell it so loudly, that he was worried he might have hurt her ears. They were all breaking social distancing rules in the back of a very VIP club that had only opened to a select few clientele in Los Angeles. Jamie, being the party goer that he was, got in easily.
Now he was sitting in a private booth listening to DJ music that was horrendous but loud enough to rattle his ribcage, a feeling that he did quite like. It was like getting massaged on every inch of your body while simultaneously being pumped full of caffeine. He leaned back into the booth and the woman, whom he had just met, sat down in his lap.
"There's more to me than just looks you know!" She yelled back into his ear. He could feel the treble of her voice pierce his eardrums, like little pricks from a needle.
"I know. I don't mean to be..." He was trying to be a gentleman. Even as he sat in a dimly lit, sex crazed club full of lots of people and very little clothing. Even as he had to yell it to her over a DJ. Even as the waitress brought out another bottle. $15,000 champagne and vodka, and he was still trying to be a gentleman.
But the woman didn't let him finish. She shook her head as long, manicured nails undid his pants. She leaned down towards his lap, and Jamie realized she wasn't talking about her intellect or wit.
He should have enjoyed the thrilling moment. He probably should have let her give him a blowjob as the sparklers from the recent bottle of champagne died out in the background, a grand expression of a very intimate moment happening while the other partyers in the private booth pretended not to notice at all. But instead of feeling ecstasy travel through his nerves and flutter across his body, he felt tension form in his muscles. His eyes closed and he saw lights, no, red lights, as the rattling of his ribcage started to feel less like a massage and more like a vice grip around his lungs. Jamie gently moved the woman's face away from his lap, adjusted himself, zipped, and stood up, walking out.
He was stopped by the concierge. "Mr. Rosado, do you want us to go ahead and close all charges for you now? Mr. Rosado! Mr..."
"Yeah." Jamie whipped around, a little too fast, as the entrance way to the club looked like a blur of colors, all forming together into a smooth line. He closed his eyes again, steadying himself. "No. Leave it open, anything they want. Call me a car please?" One of the women had followed him out. She couldn't control her grin as she said bye to him and dashed back in, no doubt ready to share the good news of a free VIP bar tab for the rest of them, whoever they were.
Cold, slightly damp, and hard. That's how his cheek felt. Jamie's eyes fluttered open and he glanced to the ceiling. The outline of a porcelain bowl met him instead. What the fuck was he doing on the bathroom floor? But the tile felt cool. Why did tile always feel cool, he vaguely wondered? "You're my best fucking friend." He drowsily told the white tile, stretching his arms out to cover more surface area. A light tap hit him in the side of his body, and Jamie whipped around to his side so quickly, he banged his head on the toilet bowl.
"What the fuck?!" Jamie groaned as his hand grabbed his forehead. His skull was ringing a symphony of pain in a colorful assortment of notes.
"Get. Up." Scott Adler. Jamie knew that voice. If his manager was involved, things had finally gotten bad.
"Alright, alright. Damn." A few grumbles, and a little help from Scott, and Jamie was on his feet. He shuffled the short distance to his bedroom and plopped onto the bed. It was too warm to put the blanket over him, so he laid there, in nothing but his underwear.
"We need to talk, man." Scott always had that authoritative voice with Jamie. He was his manager first and his friend second. Jamie didn't have to open his eyes and look to know that Scott was standing at the foot of the bed with his trademark hands on his hips and shoulders shrugged downward, like he was part dissapointed teacher, part mobster.
"Scott...I...need...to...sleep." Each word lost steam as his voice faded.
"I'm making you appointments for the next two months. This is bad, Jamie." Scott must have had his phone out, because Jamie could hear the faint haptic feedback of the screen. He didn't bother to say anything in response. Scott stopped typing.
"Jamie. Jamie." No response. Jamie was actually having a little bit of fun ignoring him, despite the ringing in his head and the potential bruise forming on his temple. Scott cleared his throat and tried again. "James Gideon."
Jamie bristled when he heard his full name. It felt like bible study, and he was asked to read the next passage. It felt like being locked into a dark room for breaking one of the commune's laws. It felt like the preacher accusing him of stealing the hymnbook because he borrowed it to read it at home. It felt like all of the things he hated about his past.
"Don't fucking call me that!!" Jamie leaned up now and faced Scott. "What?! What the fuck do you want?"
"I want you to act like an adult, dammit. Get your shit together." Scott pointed at him, eyes laser-focused on the oversized baby that was staring back at him, incredulously. "I'm worried about you."
When Jamie didn't respond, Scott sighed, deeply pained. He really was worried about him. Not just because he was his manager. His secondary role as friend was coming to the forefront. Tap tap tap, as he put some kind of message into the universe via his phone, then he turned to leave. "You'll get a phone call reminder and I'll drive you myself if I have to. Drink some water and stay away from the fucking drugs if you can't control yourself."
"Wait." Jamie leaned up so fast, the room started spinning. His head fell to the bed like a cement block had been suddenly tied to his neck. "Scott...can you stay?"
"Jamie...It's Wednesday. I have work. I have a family. I really need to..."
"Please, don't abandon me."
Scott let out a loud, almost obnoxious sigh. He knew an emotional hostage situation when he heard one. Still, he couldn't walk away, not when his friend mode had been activated. He took a few steps to the oversized chair in Jamie's room and sat down, unceremoniously going back to his cell phone, scrolling through emails and texts. "I'm going to finish my work and then I'm leaving."
Jamie was glad that his face had fallen away from the chair. With his back to Scott, he let the warm tear trickle slowly down the inside of his face, tickling his nose before it fell off his cheek and onto the blanket under him. "Thank you."
