Delivered to Wes - Ludwig Original 1966 Black Oyster Pearl Snare Drum

An original 1960s Ludwig Black Oyster Pearl Jazz festival snare drum is arguably one of the rarest snare drums today. Ever since Ringo Starr and the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, drummers have been clamoring to get their hands on Ludwig drums in what now would be considered Ringo’s “signature” Black Oyster (or Oyster Black for you purists) finish.

This drum was made in 1966 while The Beatles 7th album “Revolver” was turning the world upside down. The drum is in near perfect condition. An insignificant amount of fading can be seen when the heads are off in the areas that were covered by the head. The interior paint is clean and smooth with just some minor scuffs and checking. Top and bottom edges are excellent. Shell and hoops are in round. Minuscule pitting on the chrome hardware. Era correct Ludwig white coated top snare head in excellent condition. Original wires. A once of a kind snare.
