1. Please be mindful of IC drama. Remember, not everyone enjoys writing IC drama, and that is okay. If you feel your character's actions are going to create drama of any kind, big or small, please get an approval from that writer first, and if they say they do not want to engage in the drama, accept their decision and move in a different direction from there.

2. Remember that this game is optional, and every single thing inside of it is also optional. No character is required to speak to or interact with every single character. No one is required to write or keep a line they no longer have interest in writing. Please be mindful that some writers may want certain storylines or interactions for their characters and some may not. Do not turn any of these personal decisions into IC drama.

3. Please be respectful of each other's OOC time. Do not hold characters accountable IC for the activity level of their writer. A few of us have multiple characters and fluctuate between them -- do not use the activity levels of these characters to create IC drama. Please understand that it is completely a writer's choice which characters they want to give attention to on any given day in the game, and none of those choices should ever be taken IC.

4. no god-modding. This is not just about controlling a character in scenes. God-modding also includes: making any decision for another character such as how that character feels about something, making plot point decisions for other characters without approval from a writer, making decisions on npcs related to a character that is not your own, and mentioning or naming other characters in posts without approval from a writer. there are other possible examples not listed here -- if you are ever in doubt, it's best to ask!

5. do not get blurry. this is a small group! we will often know things on an ooc basis that our characters do not know ic. please do not cross this line. we also have writers with multiple characters. please do not assume that if one of your characters knows something, then the other character(s) know it too. even if those characters have the potential to communicate with each other. To be fair, ic knowledge should not be passed between the same characters written by one writer (unless it is essential to plot and discussed with your storyline partners.)

5. include trigger warnings as needed. some of our writers are very sensitive to certain topics. please, in addition to adding trigger warnings to posts and updates, utilize trigger warnings with character conversations and scenes as well. if you feel something is going into the territory of being a sensitive topic, please go ooc and ensure that writer is comfortable with this. if you have read these rules up to this point please leave a heart emoji (in any form) on the app for the question of did you read the rules, and please continue to read the rest, thank you. sensitive topics can also include anything that is emotionally intense, such as severe anger issues or verbal abuse (which has not been previously discussed or plotted with that writer beforehand.)

6. if you need anything, come to a mod! I am always here to help out however I can. I will admit I am not the best mediator, but I will always do my best to make sure people feel comfortable here and safe.

1. Giving your character a credit that would give them costars in the game, and reaching out to those costars for lines. (Please use the storyline community to make these connections.)

2. For musicians, working out a past or upcoming joint-tour with a current member in the game, or working out a music video credit for an actor in the game.

3. Any other major connection (outside of friends and exes) that isn't related to professional credits (such as cousins/family, partners on a project, etc.)

it is possible to claim the entire career of one celeb, however this is a rarely granted request.

most credits should be a la carte, meaning you pick and choose your character's credits throughout the years from a variety of projects and celebrities.

whitewashing of roles is not accepted here. diversyfing roles played IRL by white actors is accepted and encouraged.

adhere to the five year rule where it is necessary to make sense. exceptions can be made in a few cases if it makes sense. (mod approval needed).

work with your in-game co stars when it comes to filming and promotions schedules. game activity does not always have to follow the schedule that is happening IRL but it should be close enough to make sense. movies and tv shows will release on the same days in game as they do IRL.

credits can only be requested or added for a project after it is officially announced (including the cast list) on imdb.com.

only one claim per musician (this includes that musician's entire library of work, for example a dave grohl claim would include Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Them Crooked Vultures, etc).

it is entirely up to you if you would like your character to follow that musician's IRL tour dates/schedule.

projects should be released around the same time irl, but if you'd like an exception, please just ask.

please be mindful of others when utilizing pb faces for npcs.

npcs Cannot have credit claims.

family npcs cannot be real people. (ex: do not npc jimmy fallon as an uncle)

feel free to use irl counterparts to respectfully mention costars/band mates/etc if that role is not taken by a character in the comm, but please keep this to a strong mininum. (example: if george clooney is in your character's project, it seems likely to say your character knows and interacts with clooney, however, do not control or give actions to clooney in scenes, threads, or posts.)
